Click the keypad or type: digits, + − * /, ′ for feet, ″ for inches, Enter for =, Backspace, Esc to clear.

TAPE

Finished operations appear here.

HOW IT WORKS
  • Press Ft or In after a number to make it a length: 1 2 Ft 6 In is 12′ 6″.
  • Fractions: type the numerator, /, the denominator, then In: 3 / 4 In is 3/4″.
  • With + and − a bare number is inches. With × and ÷ it is a plain multiplier.
  • Length × length gives square feet, and × length again gives cubic yards.
  • Equals twice repeats the last operation. Backspace walks back through an operator.

How to use it

  1. Press Ft or In after a number to make it a length: 1 2 Ft 6 In is 12' 6".
  2. For a fraction, type the numerator, press /, type the denominator, then press In: 3 / 4 In is 3/4".
  3. With + and −, a bare number counts as inches. With × and ÷, it is a plain multiplier.
  4. Length × length gives square feet, and multiplying by a length again gives cubic yards.
  5. Pressing = again repeats the last operation. Backspace walks back through an operator. Use the Round to menu to change the fraction precision.

Example

12' 6" + 3" = 12' 9". 10' × 10' = 100.00 sq ft. 3/4" + 1/4" = 1".
